This category is dedicated to us Desi people. We love data and also want to stay connected to our roots. I am Dr. Manav Verma. I am a dentist. I run a busy clinic. I am also a dad who likes to swim. I wake up early to go to the pool with my daughter. I really believe in the ways of Ayurveda. I value what our parents and grandparents taught us, like being disciplined. We should eat meals together as a family and listen to our bodies instead of always wanting the latest thing. I think these old Indian values are important and I try to follow them. I am interested in data. Still, I also want to keep things simple. I remember where I come from.
Quantified Desi focuses on monitoring aspects like strain, recovery, sleep, and HRV. Nonetheless, we approach it in our own unique way. We like to keep things affordable. We also incorporate remedies our grandmothers told us about. Additionally, we use cultural habits that really work.
I do not like going to labs or using complicated apps. I wear my Whoop every day. I wear it when I am at the dentist for a dental appointment. I also wear it when I am watching swim meets and cheering. The numbers on my Quantified Desi Whoop tell me what is really going on with my body. I trust Quantified Desi and my Whoop to give me the truth, about my strain, recovery, sleep and HRV. The real magic happens when I mix that data with superfoods. I use haldi doodh to reduce inflammation. Soaked badam in the morning gives me steady energy. I drink jeera water after a hard swim to make my stomach feel better. At night, tulsi tea calms my mind. I really like using haldi doodh to crash inflammation. I also have soaked badam every morning for energy. After a swim I drink jeera water to settle my gut. At night I like to have tulsi tea to calm the mind. Indian superfoods like these are really good, for me.
Ayurveda already taught us about dinacharya. It’s all about following the right routine. This includes eating food at the right time and consuming seasonal foods. Now technology is showing us that this really works. I noticed that my recovery score goes up after I have a family dinner with ghee-laden roti and sabzi. My stress levels also go up if I do not do my evening pranayama. If we have late night conversations with the family, it keeps me awake. We are using technology to track all these things the way. Ayurveda and dinacharya are really helping us understand our bodies. We can see the difference when we follow the routine and eat the right food at the right time.
You’ll see real experiments here like:
– Whoop data + desi breakfast swaps — ragi porridge beats oats for our Indian bodies in recovery
– Sleep tracking after family movie nights vs early bedtime with tulsi — tradition wins every time
– Clinic + pool strain fixed with neem oil pulling and quick abhyanga
– Teaching kids simple metrics: log laps, mood, and meals — awareness with love, not pressure
– Keeping it balanced — data helps life, doesn’t control it; stay peaceful, joyful, connected
I have tried all of this on myself my family swims, the chaos at the clinic and our weekend getaways. I do not need anything that is imported from places. Quantified Desi stays strong. It stays calm. It is true to our heritage. It also hits the performance it can achieve. This is where data meets traditional Indian wisdom. It happens one breath at a time. It also happens one home-cooked meal at a time with the Quantified Desi approach.
